Founded in 2024, CULTR 44 (“culture forty-four”), is a Black women-led, queer-owned film, television, and moving image production company founded by Miracle Hurd and Shaznay Martin.

 

Based in London, UK, we are dedicated to creating distinctive, diverse, and visually captivating content that inspires, challenges, and resonates.

 

Our mission is simple but transformative: to platform underrepresented voices and reimagine what authentic representation looks like—both on-screen and behind the scenes. We believe that storytelling is a powerful tool for cultural change, and with every project, we aim to reshape filmmaking as a practice and a culture.

We understand that true representation doesn’t stop with the characters you see—it’s about who holds the pen, operates the camera, and makes the decisions behind the lens.
